INSENSICAL_SOCKET	everything	The daemon's socket. Set inside every pane.
INSENSICAL_PANE	isc	Set inside every pane to its number, so commands run there know which pane they're in.
INSENSICAL_STATE_DIR	daemon, window	Where the layout, what panes showed and the declined agents are kept.
INSENSICAL_CONFIG_DIR	window, daemon	Where settings and themes are read from.
INSENSICAL_NOTIFICATIONS	daemon	clients makes the daemon leave desktop notifications to its windows.
INSENSICAL_ISC	window, isc	The isc binary to start the daemon from. When set, it's used before the isc beside the program and the one on PATH.
SHELL	daemon	What a pane runs when there's no command and no shell setting. /bin/sh if unset.
TERMINFO, HOME	daemon	Searched for Ghostty's terminal description.
XDG_CONFIG_HOME	window, daemon, isc	Where the settings directory is, instead of ~/.config. Ghostty's and opencode's directories are also looked for here.
XDG_STATE_HOME	daemon, window	Where the state directory is, instead of ~/.local/state. Linux only.
XDG_RUNTIME_DIR	everything	Where the socket's directory is, on Linux.
TMPDIR	everything	Where the socket's directory is, on macOS (written, never run).
PATH	daemon, window, isc	Every pane inherits the daemon's. The window's is searched for isc and for the program that shell names. isc integrate searches its own for agents.
CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR, CODEX_HOME, GEMINI_CLI_HOME, PI_CODING_AGENT_DIR	isc integrate	Where each agent keeps its settings, instead of its default directory.
GHOSTTY_SOURCE_DIR	the build	A local Ghostty checkout to build from, instead of downloading.
PREFIX	just install-local	Where to install, instead of ~/.local.

Set in every pane: TERM, COLORTERM=truecolor, TERM_PROGRAM=insensical, TERM_PROGRAM_VERSION, INSENSICAL_PANE, INSENSICAL_SOCKET.
